The most unusual restaurants in the world

Today we propose to talk about restaurants not as places where we focus one hundred percent on food and its artful presentation, but rather as works of architectural design and art, in which the entourage is no less important than the menu.
There are hundreds of memorable places, but those that make us exclaim: “It was stunning!” are few. And we decided to write about them in our article.

Ithaa, Conrad Maldives Rangali Resort

Hold your breath for a couple of seconds and mentally plunge 5 meters below sea level. Open your eyes and breathe out calmly. This is Ithaa. A restaurant erected on the Alif Daal Atoll in the Republic of Maldives.

The sea inside out: fish swimming from all sides, which can be contemplated all evening through the panoramic windows and walls of the restaurant. Meditative, impressive, and insanely beautiful. Not to mention the extensive wine and food list, of course, mainly consisting of seafood. Enjoy “sailing” in a stunning environment.

Bird’s Nest

Are you afraid of heights? If not, then you should definitely add this restaurant to the “must see” list! Located within the Soneva Kiri Eco Resort, Bird’s Nest is suspended in the air at a height of five meters. Is it safe? Sure. The frame for the “nest” is a solid wood. In fact, you get several unique impressions at once: the comfort of a tree house, an enchanting 360-degree view, the opportunity to taste delicious haute, Thai cuisine which will be delivered to your table on special ropes.

Disaster Café

We continue the theme of such restaurants for those who love exciting sensations. The Disaster Café, which looks mediocre on the surface, offers  an “earthquake dinner” on the menu. Can you imagine?
You are literally served with food at the moment of a live imitation of a revived element, and it has cleared itself in earnest, but by 7.8 points. They say adrenaline increases the appetite. The interior of the restaurant, inspiring both faith in the power of nature and striking detail, will increase the release of the hormone tenfold.

Lumi Linna Castle

If earthquakes and tree houses are not for you, you might be able to take inspiration from a restaurant made of ice and snow. Nominated for the prestigious Luxury Restaurant Awards, Lumi Linna Castle beckons and refreshes visitors from all over the world.
Every year the exterior of the establishment changes, while the main elements of the decor and menu remain the same. Massive tables and chairs made of real ice, special table setting, themed sculptures and decorations that can be viewed for hours (if you don’t freeze!). The menu includes traditional Finnish cuisine. Salmon, warming potato soup, fresh venison, ripe cranberry dessert, warming spirits and herbal teas.

Bel Canto

It was extremely difficult to choose a restaurant that would complete our selection. We were choosing between a place under a waterfall in the Philippines, a nudist cafe in Manhattan, a medieval entourage of a Czech institution. But we decided to sum it up with the most romantic place located in the charming and stately Paris.
Bel Canto, a restaurant that opened in 1990, won the hearts of hundreds of thousands of people with one simple thing. A combination of a delicious dinner and a great theatrical performance. Usually, the actors work in quartets and every 15 minutes they sing different musical parts, accompanied by a simple but vibrant plot. After dinner, there is such a juicy aftertaste that it seems impossible to interrupt it with something else.
