Illegal Parking Fines in Dubai Reach AED 64.9 Million

Dubai’s Parkin Company, the emirate’s largest provider of public paid parking and related services, has reported a sharp rise in illegal parking fines in the third quarter of 2024. The total fines increased by 56% compared to the same period last year, setting a record at AED 64.9 million.

This increase in fines is attributed to several factors, including a rise in the number of clients, higher volumes of parking transactions, and the adoption of new technology. The company noted that a software upgrade to portable inspection devices in July has greatly boosted the efficiency of parking compliance monitoring. The new software has cut down inspection times and improved the accuracy of issued fines.

In the third quarter of 2024, a total of 418,100 fines were issued, marking a 48% increase from the last year. Total fines for the first nine months of 2024 also showed substantial growth, amounting to AED 172.1 million—a 26% increase over the same period in 2023.
