Dubai International Airport (DXB) in 2022 retained the title of the world's busiest international hub for the ninth consecutive year.

In 2022, the airport received 66.1 million passengers, which is 127% more than in 2021. Passenger traffic in Q4 2022 increased by 67% (to 19.7 million) compared to 2021. This is the busiest quarter of the DXB since 2019.

Emirates recycled 500,000+ kg of plastic and glass in 2022, equivalent to the weight of an Emirates A380.

Airline workers collected the bottles on board after each flight. The recycled plastics were used to make:

  • Travel essentials, etc.
