Abu Dhabi Introduces New Standards for Private Schools and Nurseries

The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has introduced new regulations for private schools and nurseries, designed to enhance the quality of education in the emirate. Starting from the 2024-2025 academic year, all private educational institutions will need to meet these new standards, which address various aspects of the educational process.

Key changes include:

• Focus on student well-being: Schools will prioritize the mental health of both students and staff, incorporating well-being programs throughout school life.
• Inclusive education: Schools will foster a supportive environment for all students, including those with special educational needs.
• Career guidance: Comprehensive career guidance will be mandatory for high school students.
• Early education: Nurseries will provide a nurturing environment, emphasizing national cuisine and table etiquette.
• Arabic language learning: Daily Arabic language instruction will be required in all nurseries.
• Smooth transition: Special adaptation programs will be introduced for children moving from nurseries to schools.
