Dubai Police Alert: Live Streams on Social Media Pose Serious Risks to Children

Dubai Police have issued an urgent warning to parents about the dangers of live streaming on social media platforms. They highlighted that such broadcasts can harm children's mental well-being, exposing them to inappropriate content, cyberbullying, and even potential contact with criminals. Offenders may post abusive comments, ridiculing a child’s appearance, voice, or behavior. Additionally, there is the risk of interaction with individuals who have harmful intentions, such as predators or scammers. Children might also unintentionally view live streams containing adult content.

The primary danger comes from irresponsible users who take advantage of children's innocence. Many children, in pursuit of social media fame, participate in live streaming without fully grasping the risks involved. Due to the sheer volume of ongoing live streams, effective moderation is nearly impossible.
