Ban on Electric Scooters in Dubai Metro Lifted

Dubai Allows Electric Scooters on Public Transport 

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has lifted the ban on carrying electric scooters on the subway and trams.

Electric scooter requirements:

• Weight: maximum of 20 kg.
• Dimensions: up to 120 cm x 70 cm x 40 cm.
• Condition: scooters must be dry and clean.
• Battery: must meet international standards (UL, IEC, etc.), be undamaged, and contain no additional batteries.
• Usage: charging scooters on public transport is prohibited, as well as obstructing aisles, seats, or emergency exits. Scooters must be folded before boarding.
